Great north run

Ruth Finn and Fiona Smith completed the Bupa Great North Run on the 18th September and kindly had Tailor Ed as their chosen charity. So far they have raised £590 for us and we would like to both congratulate them on reaching the finish line and thank them for their wonderful fundrasing efforts!
Pamper evening
A massive thank you to one of our mums, Kayleigh Denham, for organising a pamper evening in aid of Tailor Ed. The evening included a range of therapies, candles, food, stalls, a raffle and a tombola! It was also a great opportunity for parents to meet others who have children with autism too. The night raised over £600.
ladies lunch
On Saturday 26th March 2011, one hundred women put on their party dresses and gathered for an amazing fundraising Ladies Lunch at Le Monde with an orange and black Tailor Ed tiger theme. With champagne on arrival, guests were able to browse stalls selling beautiful jewellery, crafts and paintings and bid in a silent auction for some highly desirable prizes, before sitting down to an impressive three-course meal. Every chair had a goodie bag on it with gifts donated by Clarins and vouchers for Marriott Hotel beauty spa, and one person on each table was the lucky winner of some chocolate and a DVD if they found a tiger mask stuck under their seat. The opportunity was also given to enter a raffle with prizes such as DVD players and the magnificent floral centrepieces donated by Jenners. (All those who contributed to the event are listed below.)
The Committee
Catherine Foggo, Julia Main, Mandi Pritchard, Fiona Clarke and Susan Tindal
Susan Tindal, one of the committee members who organised the event, spoke about her experience of having a child with autism, and manager of Tailor Ed, Roo Philip, spoke about the organisation and how the money raised would greatly benefit our service.
Towards the end, Le Monde got into the party spirit and created two new cocktails especially for the event; a black one called Tailor and an orange one called Ed! Guests had such a great time that they were still socialising whilst they were packing down the tables and had to be encouraged to continue the fun in the bar upstairs.
By the end of the night, it was calculated that over £4000 had been raised! It was an incredible level of generosity from all the ladies in attendance. We are very grateful.
The Tailor Ed Team

Maria Cameron, Roo Philip, Kate Preston and Liz Dixon
The Tailor Ed team is incredibly touched that such busy mums took the time to organise this amazing day to support the work we do. A massive thank you to Susan Tindal, Catherine Foggo, Julia Main, Fiona Clark and Mandi Pritchard (pictured above) for all the hard work you did to put on such a successful event.

Kate's Dad walks for Tailor Ed!
Many thanks to Derek, the father of our project worker, Kate, who during the summer of 2010, walked along the West Coast of Scotland, raising money for Tailor Ed Foundation. He raised a total of £625 - more than his target! Thank you also to everyone who donated. We very much appreciate it!
